Got unpaid parking tickets? Turns out you might have more in common with the mayor than you'd thought.

Vehicles assigned to the offices of Mayor Adrian Fenty and Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee are racking up hundreds of dollars in unpaid parking tickets and traffic fines, according to the Office of the District of Columbia Auditor.

The office sampled five of the city's 78 agencies and found 685 unpaid fines since 2002 -- a total of more than $71,000.

One vehicle assigned to the mayor's office has $770 in unpaid fines, and a vehicle in Rhee's fleet has $345 in fines.

Auditor Deborah Nichols said the fines had not been paid as of Friday, when the report was released.

The report comes as Fenty has proposed increasing parking meter rates and fines for traffic violations to help close the city's budget gap.
