The new HSBC Bank in Vienna, Va. got a rather harsh welcome yesterday when a woman robbed the bank and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is a black female between 25 and 30 old, 5'5" and 180 pounds, wearing a dark shirt, a dark scarf on her head, jeans and sunglasses.

The description matches that of an individual believed to be hind several bank robberies in Fairfax County.

In yesterday's incident at 214 Maple Ave. W., the woman presented a note and demanded money from the teller. A weapon was implied but not displayed.

Nobody inside the bank was injured as a result of the robbery.

The FBI and Fairfax County Police's K-9 unit responded to assist Vienna detectives. Anyone with information relating to this case is asked to call Detective Art Sylmar of the Vienna Police Department at (703) 255-7834.
