Father of 3 Young Children Killed in Maryland Hit-and-Run Crash

A young father died in a hit-and-run crash in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Thursday night.

Terron Lamb had just finished spending time with his father when he was involved in the crash on Branch Avenue at Moores Road in Brandywine.

Lamb’s car and a pickup truck collided about 8:45 p.m. at the busy intersection, police said. The driver of the truck got out and ran.

Police said they searched the area with a helicopter and K-9 unit but didn’t find the driver.

Having the truck helps the investigation, police said, but they still do not know who was driving it.

Terry Lamb said he’d just finished his weekly dinner with his sons.

“To hit my son that way and just run off,” Lamb said. “So obviously you’re not hurt, but you couldn’t stand there, maybe offer my son support or whatever could have been done?”

He said his son recently started a job in housing maintenance and had three young children.

“He had two sons and a daughter,” he said. “His daughter was the youngest. I just can’t imagine how they’re going to feel.”

Lamb’s death was the second fatal hit-and-run in Brandywine in two days. John Gullickson, 39, of Accokeek was riding his bike southbound on McKendree Road near Accokeek Road Wednesday morning when a car struck him from behind, police said.
