A woman was struck and killed by a tractor trailer on the Inner Loop of the Beltway Tuesday morning.
Maryland State Police say the victim was struck just south of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Greenbelt at about 4:30 a.m. Investigators are trying to figure out whether the woman was inside a car near the scene before she was struck.
The woman's name has not been released.
Police say a second person at the scene may have been inside the car with the woman.
The driver of the tractor trailer remained on the scene.
Two right lanes were closed for slightly more than two hours ahead of the morning rush. Both lanes are now open.
