Man Dies After Being Shot, Then Struck By A Driver

Prince William County police are seeking information about a fatal hit and run incident in Woodbridge on Oct. 23.

According to police, the victim, a 22-year-old man, was involved in an altercation with an acquaintance in the parking lot of Marumsco Plaza. During the encounter, the victim was allegedly shot in the upper body by the acquaintance. Police responded shortly before 7 p.m.

The victim fled down Bayside Ave., where he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver left the scene prior to police arrival.

The accused shooter was identified by police and detained. The driver of the striking vehicle was not involved in the shooting, police said.

Police are looking for a late-model gray Ford pickup truck with extended cab and tinted windows. The truck may have minimal damage from center to front left driver side bumper/hood area.
