Maryland State Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal accident that took place in Frederick County Saturday afternoon.

Police say that 30-year-old Stephen Wisner of Walkersville was traveling north on Maryland Route 194 when he crossed the center line into the southbound lanes. Wisner's Pontiac Bonneville sideswiped one car before slamming head-on into a Ford Explorer.

Wisner was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Explorer, 55-year-old Pamela Droneburg of Thurmont, was airlifted to the Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore along with one of her passengers, 19-year-old Kimberly Droneburg. Both women have non-threatening injuries and their condition has been upgraded to stable.

The driver of the sideswiped vehicle, 46-year-old John Early of Walkersville, was transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, where he was treated and released. An infant passenger in Droneburg's Ford Explorer was also taken to Meritus Medical Center and was also treated and released.

Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident. Anyone who may have information is asked to call (301) 600-6168.
