UPDATE: The missing girl is in the custody of a family member. The investigation continues.


Fairfax County Police are searching for a 12-year-old girl missing for nearly a week. Ashlie Mae O’Brien went missing around 4 p.m. last Friday, according to officials.

Police say O’Brien told guardians she was going to a friend’s house, but never showed up. She was last seen wearing a red and white jacket, along with yellow athletic shorts.

Authorities ask anyone with information to please contact police.
