A Fairfax County man is facing murder charges in the deaths of his wife and teenage daughter inside their Lorton home.

Kenston Yi, 49, reportedly checked himself into Dewitt Army Hospital at Ft. Belvoir, telling workers he was involved in a quote “tragic event.”

Police found the bodies of Hyon Yi, 47, and her daughter, 15-year-old Joy, in an apartment in the 9200 block of Cardinal Forest Lane Monday morning. Joy died from asphyxiation and her mother died from blunt force trauma, police said Tuesday.

The deaths resulted from a domestic dispute, authorities said.

Kenston Yi, a graduate of West Point, recently retired from the Army.

Yi is being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on two counts of murder.
