Alert for the good people of Arlington -- stay out of the water! Namely Four Mile Run Stream. Don't even think about trying to cross the rocks for fun.

A two-alarm fire at an automotive junkyard on South Four Mile Run Drive Friday morning may have released auto fluids and fire fighting materials into the water. Nasty stuff.

Firefighters and hazmat crews knocked down the fire, but it would be smart to stay away from the H2O -- specifically Four Mile Run downstream of South Walter Reed Drive.

Much to their credit,  Arlington County  employees jumped on it quickly and posted fliers along the affected areas.

No fishing, no wading, and certainly no swimming.  And keep your pets away from the water.  The Shirlington Community Dog Park is open, but across the way, the stream is closed.
