Expect Weekend Gridlock on Roads, Metrorail

Metrorail repairs and IMF/World Bank meetings to slow traffic this weekend

Cheering on the Nationals or Capitals? Perhaps popping by the Earth Day Climate Rally on the National Mall? You’ll need to build in some extra travel time whether you’re taking your car or riding Metro this weekend.

Transit workers will be replacing switches on Metrorail's Blue and Orange lines. Customers traveling on the Red Line should also expect delays of 30 minutes or more because of rail fastener replacement and other track work. All work begins at 10 p.m. Friday and ends at midnight Sunday.

More details can be found here.
