A former teacher at a District of Columbia high school has pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography.
John Solano, who taught at McKinley Tech High School, pleaded guilty in Washington's federal court on Wednesday. He's scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 2.
Prosecutors say the 30-year-old Solano asked for and received inappropriate and sexually explicit text messages from a 16-year-old student last December.
His attorney declined to comment after the plea hearing.
Solano was a science teacher and track coach at the school, where he started teaching in 2007.
