Evidence Hearing Begins in Riverdale Quadruple Murder

Arguments will begin Wednesday over whether a piece of evidence should be heard in the upcoming trial of a man accused of killing two women and two children.

Darrell Lynn Bellard and Tkeisha Nicole Gilmer are both charged with murder in the deaths of Mwasiti Sikyala, 41; Dawn Yvette Brooks, 38, and Brooks' two children: Shayla Shante Sikyala, 3, and Shakur Sylvester Sikyala, 4.

The family was found dead inside a trash-filled apartment over a Riverdale home back in 2010.

Police say Gilmer and her boyfriend, Bellard, killed the four during a drug deal.

Wednesday's hearing will dispute a statement Bellard gave at a hotel. His defense lawyers want it suppressed during trial.

Arguments are expected to last two days.
