Three houses were damaged by an electrical fire in Georgetown Wednesday afternoon.
When fire crews arrived in the 1700 block of 34th Street NW at about 2 p.m., they found an electrical meter on fire, and manholes began to smoke and become loose.
Pepco crews went into the manholes to cut the wires and work on the problem.
A private contractor was to blame, according to Pepco.
