Elderly Man Killed in Clifton House Fire

    An elderly man has died after sustaining injuries from a house fire Wednesday in Fairfax County. 

    Firefighters arrived at the Clifton home, located at 5605 Willow Valley Rd., just after 4:20 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke filling the first floor. They rescued the man from inside.

    Three people are in the hospital following a house fire in Fairfax County. The fire broke out just before 4:30 Wednesday morning on Willow Valley Road in Clifton, Virginia. News4's Derrick Ward has more.

    Two others, an adult male and female both escaped from the house before firefighters arrived. They were taken to Washington Hospital Burn center with life-threatening injuries.

    The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Damages to the house are estimated to be $40,000, according to officials.
