Early Voting to Begin at Locations Around DC

Early voting is set to begin at locations around the nation's capital.

Nine neighborhood-based early voting sites open on Saturday. District of Columbia residents will be able to vote from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Previously, early voting was available only at the downtown building that houses the D.C. Board of Elections.

The top race on the ballot is for mayor. Democratic nominee Muriel Bowser is the favorite to replace Mayor Vincent Gray after defeating him in the April Democratic primary. Three out of four registered voters in the District are Democrats, and the city's Democratic nominee has never lost a mayoral election.

The most recent independent poll showed Bowser with a 12-percentage-point lead over her nearest challenger, independent David Catania.
