    A local high school senior will be in the world spotlight at a bowl game Jan. 3.

    Dylan Cate will be among an elite group of musicians from across the country performing at halftime at the US. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

    Cate plays sousaphone in the band at Fairfax High School. And at halftime, he'll be playing before a crowd of about 40,000 people -- while millions around the world watch on TV.

    Cate will join about six other students from our area who were also selected to perform at halftime.

    The game airs on NBC Jan. 3 at 1 p.m .
