Johnathan Davon Coleman was arrested and charged in the shooting of two Dumfries, Va., residents Wednesday.
Police went to the 2900 block of Wetherburn Court for the report of a shooting on Wednesday.
A 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims are believed to have been inadvertently shot as a result of an altercation that took place near where they were at the time, police said.
The victims were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for their injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery.
Police later stopped a vehicle matching the description of the one at the scene.
Coleman was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding, two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony, and one count of discharging a firearm in public.
The suspect is being held without bond and is set to appear in court on June 4.
