Police said a driver lost control of her car and struck a utility pole and fence early Sunday in Howard County.
Investigators said Jenna Renee Martin, 28, from Glen Burnie, Md., lost control of her car, crossed over a double yellow line and hit the pole and fence on the other side. The accident occurred along Woodbine Road just north of John Pickett Road.
Martin was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life threatening injuries.
She remains in critical, but stable, condition. Police said driver error and speed are factors contributing to the accident.
