Dozens of Car Windows Shot in W. Springfield

Police are searching for the person or people responsible for shooting the windows of at least two dozen vehicles in the West Springfield, Va., area.

The shootings took place last week in the Newington Forest and Terra Grande neighborhoods, mostly between the hours of 1 and 3 a.m. The most recent incident was Thursday.

Authorities say either a pellet or BB gun was used to target the rear windows of minivans or SUVs. In most of the cases, the vehicles were empty, but at least one was occupied at the time of the shooting.

The suspect or suspects were reportedly in a silver Honda CRV.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477). You can also text TIP187 plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
