Double-Length Metrobus Crashes in NW DC, Eight Injured

A crash involving a double-length D.C. Metrobus injured eight people Sunday afternoon in northwest Washington.

D.C. Fire and EMS said seven people were transported with non-life-threatening injuries, and another person was taken to the hospital with a medically-related injury.

The crash occurred in the 600 block of H Street NW about 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The driver of the X2 bus reported driving over a steel construction plate, which gave way, Metro said. That caused the driver to lost control and hit several parked vehicles.

Police said H Street between 6th Street NW and 7th Street NW was closed while emergency crews worked on the scene.
