Breezy, a five-year-old female American pit bull, will undergo surgery after being shot during a burglary at a boat dealership in Virginia Beach.

The dog was protecting Norfolk Marine on East Virginia Beach Boulevard early Friday morning when two burglars shot her before making off with five boats on trailers, according to John Farlow, the dealer's service director and Breezy's caretaker.

Farlow also confirmed that Norfolk Marine has surveillance footage of the suspects.

The surgery to remove the two bullets is taking place at BluePearl Veterinary Partners on South Independence Boulevard.
