Doctor Arrested for Prescription Fraud in Prince William County

He was arrested as part of police's "Dragon Slayer Operation"

A doctor in Prince William County was arrested Tuesday, accused of improperly prescribing pain medication.

Samad Oraee, 53, of McLean, Virginia, was arrested as part of Prince William County Police's "Dragon Slayer Operation," which targeted the distribution of prescription pain medication and heroin.

Oraee was a registered physician at the Neurological Center of Northern Virginia in Woodbridge, but police say he was prescribing pain medication without performing the proper medical exams first.

"People are going in and getting these medications without really justifying a reason to need them," said Jonathan Perok of Prince William County police.

He was charged with two counts of prescription fraud. A court date is pending.
