A school bus burst into flames on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George's County Friday afternoon.
The bus was headed northbound on the BW Parkway at Annapolis Road in Cheverly, Md., when it caught fire.
The bus, belonging to the District, was fully engulfed in flames.
The driver escaped safely. No children were on board at the time.
Traffic backed up for several miles while firefighters extinguished the flames.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
