D.C. police have announced the arrest of a man who they believe robbed two men who were dining at a restaurant on Logan Circle last month.
James Edward Wade, 30, of Washington D.C., was arrested Saturday and charged with armed robbery.
Authorities believe Wade was the robber who approached two men in front of Pizzoli's Pizzeria at 1418 12th Street NW May 17 at 9:22 p.m. At first, the men thought he was a panhandler.
“He comes up to us at first and says, ‘Hey, do you guys have any money?’” one of the victims told News4. “And I made eye contact with him. I didn’t answer him at first. I was like, ‘Oh, man, this isn’t good. This guy isn’t just looking for some change.’ And my buddy was like, ‘No, we don’t have any money.'"
The man then pulled out a gun.
"[He said,] give me everything you got in your pockets right now. Don't make a scene,'" the other victim told News4.
The suspect got away with $200. He dropped the iPhone on the ground when he saw police in the area, and the victims were able to retrieve it.

The entire robbery was caught on the restaurant's surveillance camera.
Police said that they identified Wade as the robber after receiving numerous tips from the public.
