Delta Introduces Baggage-Tracking Feature

Airline provides a means for tracking your checked bags

Ever wonder exactly where your luggage goes after you check it at the airport kiosk? Problem solved. Delta Air Lines, which charges $25 for the first checked bag, said customers can now track their checked baggage from the runway to the carousel.

To locate your bag, take your bag tag number that you receive when the bag is checked and type it into Delta.com. From there, you can get up-to-date information on the exact location of your bag anytime during your trip.

The service also helps if a bag is delayed or lost. Start by filing a missing luggage report with the airline. Then, just plug in that bag tag number to check the status of your luggage.

No Internet access? Delta is also making this data available on kiosks in select airports (no word yet if DCA, IAD or BWI are included).
