10-15 Vehicles Break Down on Beltway After Striking Wood

Multiple vehicles are dealing with flat tires after striking debris on the outer loop of the Beltway Monday morning, Maryland State Police said.

According to police, there was wood in the roadway between Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road. Between 10 and 15 vehicles struck the wood or had to swerve around the debris around 6 a.m. Monday.

One driver told News4's Megan McGrath the debris looked like a tree.

There's no word on any injuries.

The wood has been removed from the road, but significant delays remain in the area.
