Deadly Double Stabbing at Metro Station

9 juveniles arrested after early morning attack

One man is dead after a double stabbing at the Woodley Park Metro station in Northwest D.C.

D.C. Police say that the victim, identified as 18-year-old Olijawon Griffin of Olney, was robbed on Columbia Road, Northwest shortly before he was stabbed. Investigators say that Griffin and others encountered the people who robbed him inside the Woodley Park Metro Station. During the subsequent fight, investigators say that Griffin was fatally stabbed in the chest, while the second victim was also stabbed in the face. The other victim is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

According to police, nine juveniles were arrested Saturday, and one, a 17-year-old, was charged with Murder Two while Armed as well as Aggravated Assault and Robbery Force and Violence. The other eight juveniles were charged with Aggravated Assault and Robbery Force and Violence.  All are currently charged as juveniles. The 17-year-old charged with murder is expected in court Monday, when it will be determined if adult charges will be filed.

The Woodley Park station did open on schedule at 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
