D.C. Man Indicted for Christmas Day Shooting

Man accused in Christmas Day shooting faces numerous charges

A District man was indicted on murder charges for a Christmas Day shooting that left one man dead and two others injured.

Marlo Garcias, 21, was indicted in D.C.'s Superior Court on nine counts related to the shooting.

Prosecutors said Garcias shot and killed Miguel Romero, 21, in the early-morning hours of Christmas Day while attending a holiday celebration.

They claim Garcias got into an argument with the victim regarding the music being played during the celebration. Prosecutors also claim Garcias was upset at the victim because he allegedly groped his girlfriend's buttocks.

Garcias is accused of injuring the victim's cousin and girlfriend by shooting them both in their heads. Both victims still have the bullets lodged in their brains.

Garcias will go on trial for the nine charges related to the shooting in April 2011.
