A traffic alert for drivers in the Georgetown area. This morning, DC Water begins work on a 48 inch water main on east bound side of Canal Road.

Crews will seal the joints of the pipe between MacArthur Blvd and 35th Street. The work will take away a lane of traffic between 9:30am and 3:30pm Monday through Friday.

In the second phase of the project, crews will work on pipe along M Street between 26th Street and New Hampshire.

Traffic delays are expected in the area. The work should be completed by September.
