Two Shooting Homicides in Northeast D.C.

Metropolitan Police are investigating a pair of homicides that took place overnight in Northeast D.C.

Authorities said Ervin Lamont Griffin, 32, died from gunshot wounds on Friday the 13th.  Police responded to the 1200 block of 18th Place NE around 11:30 p.m.  There, they discovered the victim, suffering from multiple bullet wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later.

Another man was shot on the 3700 block of Jay Street, NE, just before dawn on Saturday.  Sixth district officers responded to the location and found a man, suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Police identified the man as 30-year-old Junon Tyree Snead.  Snead was also pronounced dead on the scene.
