A 14-year-old girl who took a cab to Southeast Washington Thursday has been found.

Karen Mitchell left her house in Silver Spring at 7 a.m. on her way to school. But it appears she never got there.

Investigators learned the child hopped a cab to the 2200 block of 22nd Street in Southeast, and was last seen there about 3:30 p.m.

Mitchell's family said they are happy that she is home.
