What to Know

  • Christian Muse disappeared from his Prince George’s County, Maryland, home July 15, 2012, when he was 19 years old.
  • Prince George’s County police said the case remains open and is assigned to a detective.
  • His father, Michael Muse, has a GoFundMe page to raise money for a reward.

A singer from the Washington, D.C., area who hasn’t seen his son for six years said he is trying to raise $100,000 to post as a reward.

Michael Muse, who has sung with the go-go band Rare Essence and the Philly soul group the Stylistics, said his son Christian disappeared from their Prince George’s County, Maryland, home July 15, 2012, when Christian was 19 years old.

“After that fifth day, no phone call, that’s when we decided to file a missing person report,” Muse said.

But years later, there’s still no word from his son.

“I haven’t had a twin feeling that it’s worst-case scenario. I just get scared because of the world we live in,” said his twin sister, Milana.

Prince George’s County police said the case remains open and is assigned to a detective.

“I have these dreams about him, and he’s always a child in these dreams,” Muse said. “He’s always 8 years old, 10 years old, and in those dreams I’m feeling all of the emotions of crying and the sorrow that comes with it, but no physical tears come out, and it’s almost like God gave us tears to release the pain.”

Muse believes sexual abuse by a relative played a role in his son’s legal and drug problems.

On the days he works as a ride share driver, Muse carries a sign pleading for news about his youngest son.

He said he never gives up hope as he’s driving around on busy streets that he will spy the face of his son in the crowd.
