Second Teen Dies in Haymarket Crash

A second teenager involved in the Wednesday car crash in Haymarket has died.

Prince William County police identified the victim as Savanna Kidane Mouratidis, age 15, of Haymarket.

The crash occurred last Wednesday, April 20.  After a preliminary investigation, authorities said a 2005 Dodge Magnum owned by an 18-year-old Gainesville resident was traveling westbound on Logmill Road when it hit a deer at high speed.  The impact caused the driver to lose control, sending the car into a tree.

The accident happened late at night west of James Madison Highway in Prince William County.  Five teenagers were inside the car at the time of the crash.  Kendra Kaeleen Tucker, 15, of Gainesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said none of the car's occupants were wearing seatbelts, and that speed was a factor in the crash.

Grief counselors were on hand Monday at Battlefield High School, where all five of the victims attended school.
