The District made the No. 1 spot on the list of best cities for college graduates.
The websites Apartments.com and CareerBuilder.com ranked the city first even though the average one bedroom apartment costs almost $1,700.
The websites say that the area has a low unemployment rate and that entry-level salaries in the District are higher than average, starting at $39,000.
This is quite the jump from last year's rankings, when D.C. ranked seventh.
New York City took the No. 2 spot, followed by Boston.
