Dropping a dime on someone with an illegal gun could earn you a grand in D.C.
Police announced the "Got Guns" program last week. Anonymous tipsters can earn $1,000 in cash if their information leads police to illegal weapons.
"This program is the continuance of a steady and sustained attempt to reduce gun violence,” D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said. “This is another resource for police to use in accomplishing that goal.”
