DC Police Hope to Identify Suspect in 2 Bank Robberies

Police are hoping to identify a person of interest in back-to-back bank robberies in northeast Washington.

District of Columbia police said in a news release that a man handed a note demanding money to a teller at the Industrial Bank of Washington on 45th Street, Northeast, on Thursday morning. The man ran away with some money and got into a car with two other people.

Police say about 15 minutes later, two men walked into a Citibank nearby. One of them grabbed a teller by the neck and demanded money. The men left with the money and got into a car driven by another man.

Police have released surveillance images of one of the men believed to have taken part of the robberies.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 45 to 50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a slim build. He was described as wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black skull hat.
