D.C. Police Cleaning Up Fourth District

A new effort to combat littering in part of D.C. is underway.

Police officers from the Fourth District are stepping up their enforcement of littering laws, targeting pedestrians who litter.

Officers also are holding a series of cleanup events throughout the month, beginning with 2nd Street and Webster Avenue in Northeast Wednesday and 550 Galloway Street NE Thursday.

Police are asking for residents to volunteer their help.

The rest of the cleanup schedule follows:

  • 3800 Block of Kansas Ave., April 7 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 7000 to the 7800 Block of Eastern Ave. NW, April 14, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Randolph Street and Quincy Street between Georgia Avenue and 14th, April 15, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Puerto Rico Ave. NE from Buchanan to Taylor St. NE, April 22, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 333 Hawaii Avenue NE, April 29, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 4900 Block of South Dakota Ave. NE, April 29, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
