In case you missed out on the traffic around Falls Church on Sunday, new road construction will give you another chance to get slowed down.

Construction crews will begin swinging pieces of the aerial bridge into place that will eventually carry the Dulles Corridor Metro train.  That process requires a large horizontal train will be lifting materials into place.

For drivers, this means the start of nightly lane closures.  The two right thru lanes of northbound I-495 at Route 123 will be shut down on Sunday, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and then Monday, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.  A third lane will be taken out of service overnight from Tuesday until Friday.

Traffic will be allowed to pass through the interchange, but expect delays, starting at Route 7.  These overnight closings will continue to happen throughout the year until the bridge construction is complete.

For more info on the project, check out the Dulles Metro website.

The Capital Beltway High Occupancy Toll Lanes Project will also be shutting down roads starting Sunday night.  Here's the rundown of closures:

I-495 west/north at I-395: Each night, Sunday, June 5 through Saturday, June 11, starting at 9:00 p.m. one lane will close on I-495 west/north at I-395, progressing to a full I-495 north closure after 11 p.m. Motorists will be detoured to I-395 north to Exit 2, Edsall Road, follow signage to I-395 south, and take Exit 1D, I-495 north. All lanes will reopen weekdays by 5 a.m. and by 7 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.  This closure allows crews to continue bridge work.

Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) east to I-495: Each night, Monday, June 6 through Saturday, June 11, starting at 9:30 p.m. one lane will close on Route 267 at I-495 progressing to a full eastbound closure after 11 p.m. Motorists will be directed to I-495 south, to Exit 46B, Route 123 north, follow the signage to turn left onto I-495 north. All exit ramp lanes will reopen on weekdays by 5 a.m., on Saturday by 7 a.m. and on Sunday by 9 a.m. This closure allows crews to install steel bridge beams.

I-66 east at I-495: Each night, Tuesday, June 7 through Saturday, June 11, starting at 9:30 p.m. one lane will close on I-66 east at I-495, progressing to a full I-66 east closure after 11 p.m. Motorists will be detoured to I-495 south to Exit 52B, Little River Turnpike east (Route 236), follow signage to I-495 north, back to Exit 49B, I-66 east. All lanes will reopen weekdays by 5 a.m. and by 7 a.m. on Saturday.  This closure allows crews to complete bridge demolition.
