D.C. Nightclub Loses Liquor License Following Double Stabbing

Lawmakers call for permanent closure

The D.C. nightclub near where two people were stabbed on Friday had its liquor license revoked Tuesday.

Mood Lounge, located near the Washington Convention Center, had its liquor license suspended indefinitely.

Two men were attacked outside the Mood Lounge in the 1300 block of 9th St. Northwest early Friday morning.  That night, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier ordered the Mood Lounge shut down for 96 hours.

Ward Two Councilmember Jack Evans told News4 he wants to have the nightclub closed for good. Neighbors have complained about the violence, noise and trash from the club, according to Evans.

Both men who were stabbed outside the club are expected to recover.
