D.C. Man Killed in Southeast Shooting

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting Tuesday night in the 3500 block of 18th Street, Southeast in the District.

Rahmaan Jamal Ward, 32, of Washington, D.C., has been identified as the victim in the homicide, police said.

Units from the Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting near Mississippi Avenue and Stanton Road in Southeast.. Upon arrival, Ward was found to have suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. D.C. Emergency and Medical transported the victim to an area hospital were he was pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
