A 25-year-old man died Monday after his car struck a tree in Chevy Chase Friday night.
D.C. resident Malcolm Lawrence Gardner crashed a blue Mini Cooper at the intersection of Beach Drive and Wyndale Road, police said.
For reasons still under investigation, Gardner's car crossed the double yellow line and struck a tree near the road's shoulder.
Fire and rescue officers responded to the scene around 8:40 p.m. and took Gardner to Suburban Hospital.
