Fairfax Woman Assaulted in Her Sleep

It was no alarm clock that woke up an Annandale woman at 1 a.m. this morning.

No, it was two hands of a stranger, wrapped around her neck while she slept.

A 25-year-old opened her eyes inside her Wadsworth Court home to find a stranger standing over top of her bed.  The victim screamed, and the invader fled out of an open bedroom window.

Police said the woman was not injured in the incident, which they are calling a "suspicious event."

She told the police the suspect was in black, 5'9'' and in his late 20's.  Investigators gave chase with a K-9 team and a helicopter, but could not locate him.

The investigation continues.
