D.C. Council Considers 2 New Bills in Fight Against Synthetic Drugs

The D.C. Council is expected to take action on legislation that will make it easier for police and prosecutors to go after people selling synthetic drugs.

One bill before the council would give police and other agencies the ability to fine and close down businesses that are caught selling synthetics.

A second bill would make it easier for law enforcement agencies to test for synthetics when suspects are arrested.

Both bills will be assigned for committee hearings Tuesday.
