DC Committee Holds Hearing on Medical Marijuana

The D.C. Council discussed who would qualify for medical marijuana and how it would be distributed at a hearing Tuesday.

Council members will learn more about the regulations in the next 30 days.

More than 50 people signed up to testify at the D.C. government hearing on medical marijuana.

D.C. voters approved a medical marijuana law in 1998, but Congress had blocked the implementation of the law until recently.

The soonest the bill could be voted on in final form by the council is May.
