Boy Drowns at Annapolis Beach

Authorities say a boy has died after being pulled out of the water at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis.

Sgt. Art Windemuth, a spokesman for the Maryland Natural Resources Police, says the boy died Monday at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Capt. James Rostek of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department says officials were called to the park about 8 a.m. for a child who was missing. Rostek says the boy had been pulled from the water by the time an emergency crew arrived. Authorities say he was given CPR and taken to the medical center with serious and life-threatening injuries.

Windemuth says the boy had been about 6-years-old.
