Crofton Family Dispute Turns Violent

Four people hospitalized with stab wounds

The father of a Crofton, Md., family has been charged after a violent attack ended with his family being transported to a hospital.

Julio Cesar Esquetini, 49, was charged today with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and several related charges.

The multiple stabbings happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Forest Hill Court in Crofton, Md. Police say a woman dialed 911 and reported family violence.

The caller told police her father stabbed her, her sister and her 49-year-old mother.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they transported the three victims to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The mother and two daughters, ages 13 and 20, are currently in fair condition.

As for their father, police found him in a nearby wooded area.

He too was suffering from stab wounds and was taken to the hospital. Investigators are not releasing any information on a possible motive. They’re also not saying whether the father’s injuries were defensive or self-inflicted.
