2 Injured, 1 Critically, in SE D.C. Rowhouse Fire

Firefighters rescued two people from a burning building in Southeast D.C. Wednesday morning.

Fire crews were called to the rowhouse in the 400 block of 16th Street SE just before 5:30 a.m. for a report of a fire inside the building.

The fire department says one person was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and the other has serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Officials say it is not yet clear what caused the fire.

Several streets in the area were closed as the morning rush began.
