A proposed mega gas station will be up for discussion today in Montgomery County.
Costco wants to put a 16-pump station at a new store next to the Westfield Wheaton Mall and the County Council is considering a zoning amendment that would appeal the rule blocking large stations.
The law currently requires mega gas stations stay at least 1,000 feet away from places like schools, hospitals and parks. Costco's proposed gas station in Wheaton would violate that rule.
The Montgomery County council will discuss the issue in a work session at 2 p.m.
