The Corcoran Gallery of Art has a new exhibition featuring images of war photography from the past 165 years.
includes images by more than 200 photographers covering conflicts from the Mexican-American War through Iraq and Afghanistan. There are images from 28 different countries.
"War/Photography" is organized around themes to show the experience of soldiers and civilians and to show how photography has informed the world about major conflicts.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, organized the exhibit, which is touring the East Coast. It will be at the Corcoran (500 17th St. NW) through Sept. 29.
