    A child was rescued from a southeast Washington fire Thursday evening, and found suffering from smoke inhalation.

    Crews responded to the 600 block of 46th Place SE around 9 p.m. Investigators believe the fire began in a kitchen of a second floor apartment.

    The child's age is unknown, but officials say he or she will be OK.
